Zi Yan is an Associate at D&P’s Disputes Practice Group. Her main practice areas are in civil litigation and dispute resolution. She has been involved and assisted in a wide range of contentious civil and commercial matters across all levels of the Malaysian courts. These include commercial and company disputes, tortious and contractual claims, fraud claims, insolvency proceedings and construction disputes. She is dedicated to helping clients resolve legal issues efficiently while continuing to grow and develop her expertise in different areas of law.

Work Highlights

• Representing a large group of over 150 plaintiffs in the initiation of a civil representative action for recovery of approximately RM25 million following a fraudulent investment scheme orchestrated by a network of multinational parties involving entities and special purpose vehicles from across the globe, including the British Virgin Islands.
• Representing the Project Owner of a Renewable Energy Project in defending an injunction to restrain the call on the performance bond valued at RM45 million.
• Advised and represented sub-contractor in initiating a claim against the main contractor and the project owner for non-payment of work on a project worth RM 7 million.
